destinations

Girl Scout destinations are a girl’s source to travel across the state, the country, and the globe.
Kayak in Hawaii, see dolphins in Florida, explore Alaska, go dog-sledding in Minnesota, discover Belize, back-pack in Michigan, provide meaningful service in Costa Rica, explore ancient Mayan ruins in Guatemala, and much, much more!!
In 2006-2007 two girls from Girl Scouts – Seven Lakes Council participated in exciting destinations titled “Costa Rica Service Challenge" and “Broadway and Beyond." See the Fall 2007 issue of Seven Lakes News for highlights of their experiences.
There are six categories of destinations.
Which one is right for the 11-17 year old you know?
International—events outside of the U.S.
Outdoors—events ranging from learning outdoor skills to Outward Bound challenges on land or sea.
Science—events that take science to a new level. Learn animal behavior or what a doctor's life is like.
People—events that visit cities and countrysides so you can experience the culture of new places.
Apprenticeships—events that give you hands-on, real-life experience in a potential career field.
Getaways—Two- to four-day events all over the country, that don't require the Girl Scout destinations application.
Visit the Escape section of the STUDIO 2B web site for a complete listing of all upcoming destination events.
The 2008-2009 Girl Scouts – Seven Lakes destinations application deadline is November 15, 2008. Financial assistance is available. Please contact Stephanie Hesler at 315.539.5085, ext. 2175 with any questions.
