Adult Awards

Why do people become a Girl Scout volunteer? Usually, they want to make a difference in someone’s life or to inspire girls or to share related interests or to create new opportunities that will build lasting memories for today’s girls. Whatever the reason, volunteers make a big impact on girls and the community.

To recruit and retain good quality volunteers, showing them appreciation is very important. Throughout the year volunteers should be recognized either in the form of a simple thank-you, gift, cioertificate, or an outstanding award for going above and beyond. It is especially meaningful when girls design the recognition or presentation with the recipient in mind. Girls and adults can create special activities such as, plan a leaders’ tea, send special cards, provide baby-sitting at a leaders’ meeting, give a handmade gift and much more.

Girl Scouts – Seven Lakes Council recognizes volunteers for their commitment and for taking action to help girls build skills of courage, confidence, and character. Anyone can nominate a volunteer for a special award including parents, leaders, service team members and individuals from the community by submitting a nominatn and following the procedures for each award on our website under Adult Awards.

If there are volunteers in your service unit who deserve to be recognized, nominate them for a special award and thank them for making a difference in a girls’ life.
